    Personally, I would get off the train in Jasper - have your day or so there, and then take a bus south along the very spectacular Icefields Parkway (one of the great road journeys of the world) to Banff, and then east to Calgary. from Calgary you can fly to Winnipeg, and then either fly on to Toronto, or re-board the train.
