6. Re: rental car at Amtrak station. 14 years ago. My experience is they will pick you up from a DT hotel and bring you to their location. In most cities this is Hertz and Enterprise, however I know is some cities I have been told by the local Hertz location to grab a cab and they take the fare off of my bill. I typically rent from Hertz.

Thanks again for your input. I did a few searches on the rental reviews at San Diego airport, and to be honest, I was stunt by how low the ratings are for Hertz, Enterprise or Avis (H seems to be the worst one, then A and then E). We rented car before with H & E and never has any problem, but this would be our first rental at San Diego airport ...
