This looks very much like a standard catch-all message which is sent out whenever there is any kind of problem with a card payment, and it covers all eventualities. If the card had declined then, as mentioned, no money would have left the OP's account.

Expedia assured me that they have credit vouchers for my flights and that i have not lost my money. In Perth from last year till December 2021 we still have an international travel ban. For the last 3 months i have been calling Expedia to ask the airlines for a refund or to extend my credit voucher for an open ticket for 2022.
Completely normal so far. (3) I called the number provided (+852 3077 5711), and after going through many menu options I got the “all out agents are busy” response and was asked to leave a message. (4) Two hours later an agent returned my call from Phoenix, AZ (+14802708191).
No payment, no e-ticket. On your credit card statement, the transaction will either show as the airline if Expedia facilitated the payment between you & the airline, or it could be Expedia if they were the merchant of record. Or even a mix, if for example Expedia charges an admin fee, then they’d be the merchant for that part.
Upon payment, I immediately received a confirmation e-mail from Expedia with a Confirmation Number (6 characters) and an Itinerary Number (13 digits). However, the email also said "Your e-ticket is not yet confirmed." Additionally, when I enter either of the two above numbers on the airline's website along with my name, it says no itinerary ...
4 reviews. 3. Re: Expedia payment problems explained. 8 years ago. Booking directly with airlines has its problems too. People complain they have to show credit card at check-in, and others were not charged for flights for 2 months and didn't know if they had confirmed booking. Edited: 8 years ago.
