   A couple of years ago my wife paid a deposit to a B & B in the US by credit card. At their suggestion she sent the card number & the CVC (number on the back) in two separate emails. However, as PMQ says, IBAN details don't allow withdrawals, so sending them to a legitimate email address doesn't, in my opinion, pose much of a risk.
