    I do not know if there is anything specific going on in Cairo this week, but main (usually 5*) hotels in Cairo are very often used as congress and conference-places and Cairo hosts quite a lot of those, also huge international ones. And if it is a major one, say Nokia or IBM or something like that, many (large 5*) hotels can be fully booked.
