Turns out they have a $10 a day plan, which sounds great for someone who intends to use the phone in a very limited way. The $10/day plan uses minutes in my existing plan.

3. Re: Cell phone coverage. 7 years ago. Verizon charges $10. per day for full service, or $45 for 10 days for of limited service. They only charge the $10 when you are there and it automatically ends when you are back. We are going tomorrow so I can let you know how good the coverage is when we get back.
