14 years ago. Lots of people live full time in the greater Palm Springs area. All the big groceries are there: Ralphs, Albertson's, Von's, along with boutique groceries like Trader Joe's. If you are at a big chain grocery, make sure you get their "customer card." You will get the best prices with it.
Here in Southern California, the three main grocery store chains are Vons, Albertsons, and Ralphs. If I'm remembering correctly, all three have stores in Palm Desert (google the names plus palm desert for directions). I find that Albertsons has the best prices, but I am partial to Vons as its the closest to home.
I will keep my receipt in the future, if we risk buying again, because I do not trust the quality of steaks at Jensen’s on Highway 111 in Palm Springs. Date of visit: March 2019 Ask Willie211 about Jensen's Finest Foods
1. Re: Best supermarkets in Palm Springs. 9 years ago. Save. A quick Google search for grocery stores near Ruth Hardy Park doesn't show anything particularly interesting. I did find that you have a Trader Joe's within 7 miles, though. It's at: 67720 E Palm Canyon Dr. Cathedral City, CA 92234.

Your hotel manager can point you in the right direction. In addition there are Trader Joe's, Jensen's, Whole Foods and Bristol Farms speciality fine foods, that are more expensive.

Jensen's is a smaller, specialty grocer with more upscale & expensive selections, including a greater selection of to-go prepared items.
