Car rentalsat the airport are expensive, but for a week rental Payless is about $150 less than your Hertz, Budget, etc. Read some horror stories on this forum regarding Payless but it can probably be said about all car rental companies.

When I went to sign the contract, it was $120 more than I had reserved. He explained it cost $10 per every partial of full day for a spouse to drive plus tax.
I checked the rate for Denver and it is 2.9% state tax, 3.65% for Denver tax, and in some cases a special rate of 1.1%. Maximum rate would be 7.65%. "Road safety fee" $2.00 per day. Total bill that was supposed to be $500 came to $1000.66. I filed a complaint with the corporate office in Florida but no response what so ever.
