For example, does the device have a limited capacity, meaning that I need to off load my USA maps before I can buy then upload the maps for Canada? Separately, prices are relatively high. 5. Re: GPS vs Google Maps on iPhone. 11 years ago. I find the opposite in Italy, the gps took us down obscure lanes, told us to go the wrong way down one way streets. Also when you miss a turn on the GPS, it just tells you to go back while google maps almost immediately recalculates a new route.
