   Turo - we've used them in multiple cities across the country, from Boston to Honolulu. Some things not mentioned: 1. Some renters expect you to clean the vehicle in a way that rental companies don't (I got dinged by one many because I hadn't vacuumed out the car - mind you, we had rented it for a month, ran it through a car wash twice including once the day before return.

   My Geico policy covers rentals through Turo. I just called and asked and they said yes. Turo is a real rental car company. They also provide free roadside assistance is anything goes wrong and 24/7 phone support. Turo doesnt let cars on the platform without current safety and registration exactly like Uber and Lyft.

   But once in a while, something about the vehicle may need attending to right before your time to use it (like an accident, maintenance, etc.), and so it gets canceled. To be fair I don't know if the rules are any different in Maui and (knock on wood) I've also never wrecked one of the cars.
