From a destination perspective, you can search for one city and anywhere within x miles, and x can be 1,000.
Aside from other switches that Google Flights may have I can’t think of any right now. The best (and it won’t do exactly what you want) may be Expedia. It won’t directly filter BE fares but a click through to the selected flight should immediately show if it's BE and what the upsell to normal Y is.

Re: ITA Old Matrix = my favorite way to research flights. Yes, the old ITA Software Matrix has been my go-to for travel planning. Google's Airfare Search just doesn't offer the flexibility to thoroughly research your options. Everything seems to get dumbed down when corporations take control of good ideas.
On the Google main page, type in two destinations, for instance Houston to Madrid, but nothing else. When you do, the very first hit will be a little chart showing airlines, lengths of flights, & prices. At the bottom right of the little chart there is the line "More Google flight results>>". Click on that.
Note that the above comments also apply to ITA Matrix, which uses the same Google Flights search engine but allows you to use various filters if you care to learn. It's best to avoid any 3rd party online travel agency regardless, including the likes of Expedia, Priceline, etc, etc.
