Priceline is a scam. Their name your own price never really works and if you buy insurance they will find any excuse not to honor it. I tried to use them and then was told that even though I bought cancellation insurance, I would not be able to cancel and that if I wished to alter my travel arrangements it would be an additional $400 fee.

I have used Priceline "Name your price" and was extremely disappointed. I bid $70, expecting I will get a somewhat higher value hotel room. Priceline put me in a model that can be booked on Orbitz and Travelocity for $56. They claim you can save up to 60% with Name your price, but as you see, that is not the case.

This makes me feel that name your own price is a complete scam! The whole point is to hopefully get a hotel at less than the published price as you are taking a chance on not knowing which hotel you will get. Priceline advertise that you can make savings of up to 60% on the published price with name your own price and I ended up paying 45% more!

Priceline got into the online auction business with Priceline Yard Sales , where individuals would use the Priceline system to haggle for various ...

    e. Name your own price (NYOP) is a pricing strategy [1] under which buyers make a suggestion for a product’s price (unlike the traditional way where sellers quote a certain price) and the transaction occurs only if a seller accepts this quoted price. [2] What happens is that the seller waits for a potential buyer's offer and can then either ...

Don't use Priceline!! They have zero tolerant refund policy. I used Name Your Own Price to get a hotel in Paris. A week before my trip, I found out that the hotel had bedbugs. I called Priceline to get another hotel and they told me the hotel, while admitting they had had bedbugs during the prior 2 weeks, had gotten rid of them.
