Priceline.com experimented with selling gasoline and groceries under the Name Your Own Price model in 2000, at the height of the dot-com bubble, through a partially owned affiliate, WebHouse Club. "Name Your Own Price" is still alive and well at Priceline - you just have to click on the link. There's something a bit addictive about that whole thing - I'm totally hooked, and have been for years. I love playing the game, hoping for the best, and finding out what hotel is in store for me. 9 times out of 10, it's been a fabulous experience.

Not too useful anymore for airline bookings. If you read their guidelines, it will tell you the most connections you can expect, etc. Most planes are flying pretty full, and many airlines have cut their routes, so I have not read of many people getting great bargains on "name your own price" for airfare.

Hello Travelers! Priceline.com has a feature called 'Name Your Own Price' and I believe the way it works is you enter a price that you'd be willing to pay for a flight to wherever it is that you'd like to go, and if they find an airline who accepts your offer, your credit card will automatically be charged and you'll be booked on that flight.

But if you're fully ok with Priceline's T&C regarding "name your own price" tickets, that's up to you. I'm sure you know that there are no refunds and no changes once the transaction is complete. Another thing to keep in mind is that the ticket is only good for the airline which issues it (ticket is non endorsable).
