3. Re: Priceline Name Your Own Price on a rental car? 9 years ago. It was for the 5 major car rental companies: Hertz, Alamo, National, Enterprise, etc. It just seems to good to be true for that price when from the rental companies themselves the prices are at least $50 per day for a minivan.
Hi half-Brit. I have used Priceline for car rental and just used the insurance provided by my credit card. I go to Hotwire and do a dummy booking. Then I take that rate and subtract about 15% to get the amount to bid on Priceline.

7 posts. 4 reviews. 17 helpful votes. Priceline car rentals from LAX. 15 years ago. Has anyone used Priceline's "name your own price" to rent a car at LAX. I can save quite a bit of money by doing it this way, but I'd like to hear from someone who has done it. Report inappropriate content.
However the website kept popping up suggesting that I save 60% by naming my own price. What a joke, I entered $99 for a three star hotel in Anaheim. It came back stating that they couldn't find anything close to that price for that quality (give me a break full price 3 star rooms are $140 average)and suggested that i increase to $119.

At the far left of the new page that pops up is a name your own price catagorie. We got a contertible from National for $19 a day.
