Hello Travelers! Priceline.com has a feature called 'Name Your Own Price' and I believe the way it works is you enter a price that you'd be willing to pay for a flight to wherever it is that you'd like to go, and if they find an airline who accepts your offer, your credit card will automatically be charged and you'll be booked on that flight.

Most planes are flying pretty full, and many airlines have cut their routes, so I have not read of many people getting great bargains on "name your own price" for airfare. You can always find the lowest pricing booking directly with the airline and try. Suggest you go to a site like betterbidding.com, if you haven't already, to learn how to bid.

Re: Experience with Priceline 'Name your own Price'? 13 years ago. I use Priceline & Hotwire a lot, though in the South ( Charlotte, Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Savannah, Jacksonville) a better rate & often better room ---is to check the lowest bids on both. (Priceline, Hotwire)., then call the hotel you think it is directly, speak to the Manager ...

What I think is best about the bidding sites is that you can stay in a "pamper" hotel for a "roadside motel" price. If you get a range, check the amenities (and, if available ...

    1. Re: Using Priceline's "Name Your Own Price" feature? 11 years ago. Hi, In my mind Taipei (TPE) is a good city to be going to as far as "cheap" fares go.. It is home to two carriers- China Airlines (CI) and EVA Air (BR) with the former being reasonably well known for offering more value-oriented fares to/from Asia than some of the other more ...

Don't use Priceline!! They have zero tolerant refund policy. I used Name Your Own Price to get a hotel in Paris. A week before my trip, I found out that the hotel had bedbugs. I called Priceline to get another hotel and they told me the hotel, while admitting they had had bedbugs during the prior 2 weeks, had gotten rid of them.
