    Airtel can use with best signals in some areas only right now arround sri lanka. Sigiriya or Dambulla or Yala or some specific places no networks from Airtel. I am using bothe Airtel and Dialog .

    You will need an unlocked phone and then it is easy. At the airport in Colombo there is a Dialog GSM office, it is near the banks and easy to find. Dialog has probably the best coverage in SL. Buy a SIM card which costs about Rs 300, ($3) and you can put money on your phone there and then.

    I personally prefer Mobitel and had no trouble with signals everywhere I went. Dialog has 4g coverage in more areas than mobitel but those places are too remote where tourist wouldn't have any need to go. Their data usage system is designed in a way that some off-peak data will always remain unused at the end.
