First- the customer service is awful. We waited in line for over 60 minutes to even talk with an agent then waited an additional 20-30 minutes for the car to arrive. The agent told me that extra insurance in Costa Rica is REQUIRED so I proceeded to get socked with more than $350 in additional charges above my $250 rental.

Contact Avis non their Facebook page to complain , customer service is dreadful but for some reason the people on Facebook will respond positively . I recently was charged for refuelling at Las Vegas when I had refuelled , customer service said tough you have no photo of the fuel gauge . Facebook people gave refund
