We just rented an economy car for a week from Enterprise Rent A Car at Seattle Airport, from the consolidated parking facility. We got a discount using the Entertainment 2013 Book coupons and the weekly rental cost was very reasonable.

It took probably only 20ish minutes to drop car in garage and take the shuttle to airport. The shuttles were very full and the airport was very busy at 3:30 am, so I would build in plenty of time.

Don't know your plans, but if not leaving the downtown area, you won't need a car, and airport to downtown transportation is cheap.

   there are indeed instances where picking up the car downtown instead of picking it up at seatac will save big amounts, especially at the height of summer--$200 is not unheard of. so for some people, it's well worth taking a $50 cab especially if they are going downtown anyway. and there's not generally a drop fee for dropping the car at the airport if you pick it up downtown.
