My concern is that I can not find a lot of recent reviews. Thank you. Report inappropriate content. 1-10 of 31 replies.
Additional driver was very reasonable compared to many other companies and parts of the world - $5 per day. The rate included the compulsory third party insurance. The local Sixt office responded quickly to emails, and confirmed they would accept our AMEX car rental insurance and would not force us to take CDW etc.
1. Reviewed September 8, 2021. Rental car and level of service that exceeded all our expectations. This Sixt location went far above and beyond all expectations to deliver quality, clean, and well serviced vehicles. My wife and I rented a 4x4 suv to tour the beautiful countryside.

I was Quoted almost $300/ day for sedans at the Pittsburgh airport last spring. Prices may be lowering as rental agencies replenish their lost inventory, but ~$100/ day for a rental SUV may be a permanent average cost. If you have a group of 3-4, renting a vehicle may cost less than shuttles and taxis.
Costa Rica almost makes traveling too easy. You're never far from a hiking trail through the rainforest or around a towering volcano. If you overdo things, it's a short drive to a wellness retreat or a hot springs resort.
