I just came back from Japan and wanted to give some information about the Welcome Suica vs Tokyo Metro pass as I used them both in Tokyo. 1) Welcome Suica. - Pros. No deposit. Easy to use. Can use on bus and all metro lines, JR and Private metro lines. - Cons. Can be charged only with cash from ¥1000 to ¥20000.

However, in the case of the Keisei discounted package, the effective cost of the Tokyo Subway Ticket 72 hour version is <1,100 Yen. In the case of the roundtrip deal, the effective cost is <600 Yen!
