Thanks for your info. Finally, AVIS informed me that they contacted the toll company and the toll company decided to charge me for only the toll charge and the daily usage fee for only that day (USD2.25 instead of previous USD11). Well, looks like it was the toll company that took care of its customer, but not AVIS!

The above post may work out perfectly for you, however without knowing your specific plans, hard to tell you more. Avis charges $3.95 fee per rental day, plus tolls ($20 max) and they don't use a transponder, it is toll by plate.
applicable to AMEX AVIS certificate holders. Also, if you follow the instructions and go thru AMEXMR, the published rates are 10-15% higher than those obtained thru the AVIS website. Thus on a $1,000 rental thru AVIS. the same rental thru AVISMR is $1,100. In effect a $100 certificate is worthless.
