You're more likely to find stores closed in Calgary - stores in the tourist areas stay open for the tourists. The only places that are likely to be shut in Canmore are a handful of smaller, boutique type stores. That way you don't have to detour in Calgary and avoid as much of the Canada Day traffic as possible.
