The offers where the company was not named seemed cheap, but I could see by reading the details that the unnamed rental car company was off the airport property and that generally includes only the shoddiest off the shoddy rental car companies. I would consider Priceline for a big discount, but not just to save a few bucks.

I totally agree. You will book with them and when you get to the car rental place they will say the have no cars. You then will have to rebook on priceline which now the price is way higher. You will have a hard time getting the refund difference from priceline even after you submit all of the documents that they ask you for.
The Priceline website has an online chat function and a text function where you could possibly get answers to questions (or not).. Or, call them @ 877-774-2354 ( customer service support). The online help center has a Caribbean contact phone number if applicable, too.. Good luck.
