A piggy bank or savings account would work just as well and you would save whatever you have to pay these people to hold your money .

Have a look at your profile for Hotels.com. there may be a section where you have options on how and when you pay so check the setting on that. I had a similar thing happed with Booking.com, checked my settings and it was set to "Pay Immediately".

Within the USA, as already said, you can book a flight and pay in instalments on some USA based airlines. Within Europe several airlines have a packaged holiday department and you can book a flight (and just a single night in a hotel) to qualify got paying in instalments, as long as you don't need to fly in the next couple of weeks.
