   Two years ago we put 1200 miles on in 6 days around Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Last year it was 1200 again from Rapid City and Yellowstone. This year Rocky Mountain National Park and on to Moab to visit Arches/Canyonlands the first week in Sept. The car was rented through Priceline 3 months ago with unlimited mileage.

   Way too limiting. It is worth any extra cost to have unlimited miles. Vacations are for not worrying..not thinking about how far you can or cannot go, especially in such a huge area as Yellowstone!    I recently booked an 9 day one way rental from bozeman with drop off at JAC for the end of August. First problem was its a one way - my corporate discount yielded $400ish including tax for avis, but $.30/mile for a nissan rogue suv. Hertz and budget (owned by avis) has the same small suv for $1100 or so, but unlimited miles.

   Just checked avis and they also have 1350 free miles. From what I have read here and checked out online it appears that if you reserved your car earlier than we did (end of July) you may have gotten unlimited mileage for September. Like I said above we have always had unlimited mileage in Yellowstone/GTNP for years.
