If insurance was included in your booking, then it should have been reflected on the booking - you should have had something to show that insurance was included.
The reservation included the one way fee as about $400. Their office confirmed the total would be the same as my Priceline reservation including the $400 one way fee. However a few days after I had returned the car, the bill showed the one way rental as $1900. I was referred by their customer service to several Hertz centers via phone and email.
Yes, contracts are binding but there's no contract until you sign the rental agreement. The reservation is just that, a reservation. There are no laws that compel car rental companies to honor reservations. And Hertz describes prepayment as a discount program, not a guarantee. Six of us in a family group travelled from Australia. We travelled in the shuttle from LAX to the site to collect the car.
