If you are coming from the North, it would be quite easy to park your car in White Plains NY and take the Metro North railroad in. The trip takes about 30 minutes and runs very frequently.    6. Re: Subway transfers. 5 years ago. Klzl, as far as I am aware, you can get a free BUS transfer within two hours of swiping your MetroCard at a SUBWAY station (at the beginning of your journey). So, theoretically, yes, I suppose you could walk 1 mile from the subway and then catch the bus and get a free transfer.
