11 reviews. 10 helpful votes. Flying with over 3 oz of contact lens solution. 10 years ago. The TSA website says all liquids must be less than 3 oz (technically 3.4, or 100ml) unless they are medications. I cannot find anywhere on the site the definition of "medication."

Many of the bulk purchase contact lens solutions (where you buy 3 months solution in one transaction) include a sample or travel size pack as well as 2 or 3 normal bottles. In most cases this is the cheapest way to buy solution.
There have been several Air Travel discussions over the years, about Clear Care (3% H2O2) solutions and particularly RGP lenses. I have never had my travel size bottle confiscated, but I do recall a security agent at LHR taking a long look at the bottle once, then allowing me onward.
