Amex offers collision coverage if you book your rental on the card. You should check your Geico policy but I highly doubt it covers to Rentals in aruba.

I recently have been looking for a rental with unlimited miles myself. Some car rentals like avis and budget advertise unlimited miles, but read the fine print. They often limit the so called "unlimited miles" to only a handful of states, with a 25 - 35 cent/mile surcharge for any miles outside of those states.

    1. Re: Gecko car rental PVR 2022. The terrible ratings for car rentals are mostly from ignorant people who think that you can rent a car for $5 a day and use US credit card insurance, instead of paying $50-$60 a day for full coverage insurance. Gecko forces you to buy full coverage and their prices are $50-60+ a day depending on the season.

    1. Re: Car rental insurance question. Your Geico insurance is not valid in Mexico and credit card insurance does not cover liability - everybody must have minimum liability insurance. Liability insurance covers damage caused to other people cars, property, and injury. Credit cards only offer collision damage waiver (CDW) and loss damage waiver ...

I use Enterprise 90% of the time. A smallish place-- usually only 2 or 3 options in my "intermediate SUV" category BUT never once have I had an issue with unlimited miles. Unlimited miles means just that-- we travel across country and they know this. At one point, we ended up with a Trail rated Jeep. They asked where we were going and we told ...

Just got back from a 9 week rental with Enterprise that was "unlimited miles" but on checking, unlimited was actually 3,000 per month. We had to report miles after 1 month and were charged excess per mile if we went over which we did the 2nd month.

Thanks, everyone. I discovered that not all of the car rental agencies let you drive to Alberta, and some charge mileage. Others make you buy their liability insurance even if you have your own. Alamo lets you go there with unlimited mileage and not buying their insurance. I'm all set now. Thanks again.

We almost always rent from Budget at a local location (many miles from the airport,) reserved via Costco, and has always been with unlimited mileage. I have a reservation in with them for an upcoming trip and it is unlimited mileage, allowing travel to all 48 US states, plus Canada if we notify them and the their insurance paperwork.
