   I just went thru the car rental decision making business but did not use Craigslist. For what it's worth some thoughts: If you rent a car from an agency away from OGG, you will avoid paying $$$'s in taxes and fees. When I was checking prices, Alamo had the best rates for one wk. car rental. $125/wk not at the airport, vs 170+ at the airport.

   -Hawaiian airlines discount with Avis: K816401 (This one tends to be the cheapest)-Island air discount with Budget: U030087-Other rental car options include Discount hawaii car rental, Adventures rent-a-jeep (used cheap 4x4s), Costco, Priceline and Expedia. I'm sure there are lots more options, but found these to be the best.

   Anyone ever use a Car Rental from Craigslist? 13 years ago. Looking for a cheap car as im not intersted in brand new $300 a week rate from the big boys (avis, hertz, dollar, etc). Not needing a brand new car either. A few posts on the Maui edition of Craigslist offering 01' Mazda Suv or Toyota coralla for around $150 a week including taxes.
