John escorted me in and I was treated like family. Perfect car, reasonable price, helped me with insurance details. I had to extend my contract by 5 days – no problem. I just called John from Mexico (I have his cell phone number). I am coming to San Diego November 6, 2017 and am arraigning my reservation with John Cervantes at Payless Rental.

We had to wait a half an hour for the shuttle to pick us up from the airport. Apparently you have to call the Payless office to be picked up at the airport.

Answer 1 of 8: Avoid this business. This rental agency engages in deceptive practices. When I asked about adding my husband as an additional driver, the rental agent told me it would cost $10/day.
So how did a 32 dollar rental turn into a $129 charge??? Well the f'ing criminal sitting behind the counter told me it was airport charges and San Diego taxes. POS LIAR! DO NOT EVER EVER EVER RENT FROM PAYLESS IN SAN DIEGO
14 reviews. 10 helpful votes. Payless Car Rental. 11 years ago. Don't rent a car from Payless Car Rental San Diego! They will not refund the extra $599.99 they charged me for going out of "Southern California ". Here is my response to the San Diego BBB. I hope it helps someone avoid such charges.
