4. Re: Overnight Parking in Portland. Find a city street on the outer edge of Portland and take the Metro Bus into Portland city area. Than hop onto the #8 and it'll take you right down to Casco Bay Lines. If you are parked outside of the city area itself but still in Portland there aren't any meters.
By the way, Residence Inn parking is across the street from the hotel and for guests it's $20 per day, not $35. Some reviews of the hotel mention "we didn't want to pay for parking so found parking up the street"...your son should have no problem unless he arrives maybe 7:30pm when the residents have all returned from work and taken up much of the street parking.
3. Re: Parking in Portland,maine. May 17, 2024, 5:43 AM. Parking is the kiosk type meters. I was just in Portland last week for four days and had zero issues finding a spot. Obviously the time you are going will be more crowded but I’ve gone in June and didn’t have a terrible time finding spots (I assume you’re talking about Old Port ).
May 22, 2024, 5:37 PM. Parking in Portland is a mixed bag. There is on-street parking, some of which is pay at a kiosk, some of which still has meters and some in the more residential neighborhoods are free (but hard to find). There are city-owned garages which charge $3/hour with a max of $28 for the day.

Th Inn likely has a parking arrangement with one of 2 nearby garages. One is at the Holiday Inn, which offers public parking at less than $2/hour. The other one is on Spring St. across from the Holiday Inn and is owned by the City.----It's also less than $2/hr. Those two places are where I park when I'm in that area.
Answer 1 of 2: We’d like to walk along the Eastern Promenade during our upcoming visit. Is there a parking lot open there in winter? Or is it street parking only?
