Target is a pleasant store to shop in and is much easier to get in and out of than Costco or Walmart, and the selection of souvenirs is nice. Same objection re groceries though, at all three places. Longs has the best prices other than Costco for booze, snacks, and items like jams, jellies, and mac nuts. Costco has a lot of smaller sized items.

Walmart sells a lot more souvenirs that Costco. I know Walmart has the Kauai Kookie. Not sure if that's the same as Honolulu Cookies. They also have tons of different brands of macadamia nuts, kona coffee, dried pineapples, etc. I'm not sure about North Shore peanut butter though.
Costco quantities are for most part more than we need, but you can buy a single pineapple for good price or a roasted whole chicken. Gas at Costco was about 3 cents/gal cheaper than shell nearby. Though gas prices were up as we drove north. We went into Walmart, wife bought only a shirt and some ground coffee.
Costco is different from other stores in that it charges members a fee for access. You don't have to spend money simply to walk through the door at Target or Walmart. But at Costco, you're looking ...
