    It probably appears to the attendants that $5 players win more because they have to give them many more hand pays. I doubt this has anything to do with the payout percentages as much as the tax laws. A single coin dollar machine needs a hand pay when the win is 1200 times the bet. A $5 single coin machine has hand pays with any win over 240 coins.
