   Enterprise appear to be the cheapest and they do one-way rentals from SFO to LA airports - so far so good :-) But playing with the start and end times of the rental. Their website quotes me a daily rate of about $60 for 4 days rental, but if I change the start/drop-off times so it runs into a 5 day rental, they quote me a $620 "weekly rate"!

   I recently have been looking for a rental with unlimited miles myself. Some car rentals like avis and budget advertise unlimited miles, but read the fine print. They often limit the so called "unlimited miles" to only a handful of states, with a 25 - 35 cent/mile surcharge for any miles outside of those states.
