The 179$ does not say reversed and I'm not sure if they are going to try to take that 179$ since the rest of the flight (the full 300$) was not in the bank. I called my bank and they told me to call Expedia and American Airlines to make sure that the money wasn't getting taken out but if it does fail, it should go back to my account in 5-7 days.

and you have no recourse usualy if something goes wrong.. many credit cards have fraud and travel ins. built in. I always use credit card and pay in full each month then I am not charged any interest and have 30 to 45 days float. I only use my debt card for ATM and small purchase's under $100. never use credit card in ATM

7. Re: American Airlines - no email confirmation after 48h. 5 years ago. My AA confirmation email shows as a "Confirmation and Receipt" with the record locator code. Our experience is that 24 hrs with AA is not all that unusual but 48 hrs would be. You might try this: make an account with AA.
