Alternately to that kind of package — I.e., daily fee plus actual tolls — some rental companies offer a package where you pay a much higher daily fee for every day of the rental but that higher fee also covers the tolls. Hertz offers this, at about $25/ day.
Their contract mentions e-Tolls with a convenience fee of $3.95 for each day of the entire rental period, up to a maximum of $19.75 per rental month + incurred tolls at the maximum prevailing rates posted by the toll authority. 1. Re: Hertz Boston - cashless tolls without transponder. 2 years ago. Hertz will add on administrative fees for each toll that are much higher than the tolls themselves. This will take a while since Hertz will be billed periodically by the Toll Authorities and then they have to bill you. It won't be instantaneous.

What I don’t like about Hertz, they charge you each and every day of the rental, even if you never go through another toll. The max is $24 or so, but it’s just flat out wrong.
