    Lots of good home remedies or over the counter meds to help. But unless prescribed by a doctor using any antibiotics is a bad idea. If your discomfort is do great you can go visit a doctor at Farmacia Similares ($60 pesos to see a doctor) or Farmacia del Ahorro (free to see a doctor) and let them decide if antibiotics are the way to go.

    Of course, many drugs that require a prescription in the US are sold over the counter here. Some exceptions would be antibiotics and narcotics. And some very strong diet meds. Here in Cancun we really don't have giant farmacias. There are several here in the hotel zone and many more downtown.

    At the PlayaMart in PDC, there was a billboard outside with the American name and Mexican equivalent for the drugs they sold. I did not find that chart in Cancun. It might be worth your while to look it up online before you go down there so you know what to ask for. We stocked up on their Claritin equivalent but it was not marketed under that name.

Florastor (sacromere boulardi) and Culturelle. Florastor is a good form of intestinal yeast that competes with candida, and other pathogens.
