    I use Uber a lot in many places, LA, Mexico City, Cape Town to name but a few. My experience of using Uber in London has been patchy depending on location. Some places I just don't bother trying anymore as it has been too difficult to find a ride and use other ride service or black cabs either hailing off the street or via Gett.

They are there and the AVL Ride cab company too, but having your own access to a car is highly recommended for drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway and to trail heads for hiking. You could just stay in the city but that’s not really the draw of a place like Asheville.
