Answer 11 of 11: Hi all! I am leaving for Vietnam on the 25th of November, so in three days, from Singapur to Hanoi. I read online that the best option for me would be to apply for a VOA letter of approval and then get the visa when I arrive in Vietnam.
VoA question, Sorry. 10 years ago. My husband and I flew into Hanoi last year at the end of July using a VOA. There was a hold up which took us about 45min. (not long in the big scheme of things). This year we are flying into HCMC, July 30, arrive at 4.15pm. The problem this year we are flying straight out to Danang our flight departs at 6.55pm.
VOA is perfectly safe and is the preferred option by regular travelers to Vietnam. By the time you factor in the visa cost through the Consulate, express postage and money order, your up for about $100.00 compared to $35-$40 for VOA.

This isn’t a question, I just want to enquire if this has happened to others. We’ve been to Vietnam 4 times, 3 with VOA through vietnamvisapro. They are great and we’ve never had any problems, so we were surprised to be given the 3rd degree by AirAsia at Don Muang Bangkok, when we were checking in for our flight to Danang.
