Car drop off charges, Denver to Albuquerque. 8 years ago. We are thinking of renting a car from Thrifty at the Denver Airport, sightseeing in Colorado before heading to New Mexico (Taos, Santa Fe) and flying home from Albuquerque 10 days later. Checking rental prices thrifty was $500-600 less than Hertz/Avis for a standard size car.
Planning a trip to Albuquerque in May. We want to fly in, rent a car and then drive to Denver for the flight home and leave the rental car in Denver. The major companies seem to hit you with a drop off fee ranging from $500 to $600 for dropping off the rental car at a different city than the pick up location.
You can join a rental cars gold club or executive club or whatever and then usually skip the lines. Last time I rented a car (not denver) I was 2nd in line. By the time I go the car there were 25 people lined up. My review would have been great, and everyone else would have said the line was forever.

3. Re: Top Denver car rental company at airport. Enterprise, National, and Alamo are all the same company. As are Hertz, Thrifty, and Dollar. And Avis and Budget are the same company. 4.
