    5. Re: Uber vs Renting a car. Jun 6, 2024, 7:19 PM. Hertz or Budget/Avis have weekend rates under $50 a day (less with AAA) and you'd be able to get around and see a lot more for basically the price of a couple daily Uber rides. So it depends on the parking charge at your hotel I guess.

Most NYers don't own cars and those who do usually only have them if they live in an area notwell serviced by the subway. Those areas tend to have cheaper house prices.
