That doesn't mean that they won't take them, but you could get someone that is a stickler for policy. Report inappropriate content.

The potential issue with using Debit is that any pre-authorisation ("hold") placed on your card is held against your money, rendering it inaccesible for any other purpose until it's cleared/settled. So your account has to contain enough to cover this pluds your actual spends.

   We travel from England and hire a car with Dollar at Sanford.. We pay for it here in the UK and we have never shown our Credit Card. (dont have one, just a debit card and leave that at home too)
