   Re: ITA Old Matrix = my favorite way to research flights. Yes, the old ITA Software Matrix has been my go-to for travel planning. Google's Airfare Search just doesn't offer the flexibility to thoroughly research your options. Everything seems to get dumbed down when corporations take control of good ideas.

   4. Re: Matrix Airfare vs booking sites vs the airlines vs pricing. Airlines know we prefer to book direct, so why not add the 20-25 dollars on top for direct service. Or why not present the choices the way they see best fit for their revenues and logistical flight loads.

   Yeah, I saw Google Flights mentioned on the Matrix - ITA web page. But it seems to have more features than the GF website, I think I will try using it along with a few others. As for airlines not being listed on 3rd party search engines I know that Southwest is 1 of them. I will also check them out to see what they offer...

   Its ok to to use a airfare search engine to shop around but always always always book direct with the airline. As many can attest to with personal experience in 2020, you have little chance of any recourse or service with a third party site. Good luck even getting to speak with a human.

   Re: Matrix software. 13 years ago. ok, here are the details: VLI-AKL on June 25, return July 9 - US$467 or NZ625.72 on matrix, depending on sales city. Same flights on Air Vanuatu website come to NZ$815.72, which they convert to US$611.85. So that makes a difference of US$144.85 for exactly the same flights.
