They are not 24 hours operational though. 2) There are 16,020 Senven Eleven stores in Japan, and most of them have an ATM that accept foreign cards.

    Just carry USD TCs as a backup. If you don't use them in Japan, you don't have to pay any currency exchange fees. Wells Fargo, my main bank incidentally, will issue TCs with no charge if you're a preferred customer. You can use Wells Fargo ATM card at post offices and 7-11 stores, in addition to airports. There is no problem finding ATMs.

Whether the difference is worth the hassle is something for you to decide. I personally would just use ATM's and credit cards. Report inappropriate content.
