The agent told me that extra insurance in Costa Rica is REQUIRED so I proceeded to get socked with more than $350 in additional charges above my $250 rental.

   The cars exterior was not washed and the interior needed vacuuming. No one at the counter could help me and they referred me to customer service. I did not get reimburse for the cost and replacement for the new cabin filter. As a National Car Executive member I thought I would give Avis a shot. I made a mistake. The counter staff was slow.
