Re: Hwy 36. 18 years ago. US 36 is a very good road through Missouri (lots of 4 lane stretches) and most of Kansas. In Western Kansas, the route becomes less heavily traveled. Around the Norton area, there is a route which cuts South to I-70. I would recommend making the cut. fyi- I-70 through Missouri is a real pain.
I’ve found Google Maps to be very reliable in France.The “offline” feature works really well if you don’t have data coverage. I don’t drive in France myself but I spend a lot of time in the passenger seat beside a professional who does, and his go-to app is Google plus a paper Michelin atlas.
1. Re: Cross Country driving (California to Kansas) 18 years ago. The area near I-70 crossing Kansas has a lot of interesting spots, but most people never get off the Interstate and see them. In the western part of the state there are two fascinating chalk formations: Castle Rock and the Chalk Pyramids. Both are on range land and undeveloped.

0. Votes. Yes there are simulators which you can use without cost, and if you want to get into the mock up cars you do that first. There are 10-15 cars gridded like a race start and screens project track conditions. It’s part of some of the tickets or you can pay right there. over a year ago.
