Hello, despite the current situation I’m planning a September trip to Greece, at worst I’ll have the planning done for next year. I want to ask if it makes sense to rent a car in Athens and then do island hopping by ferries with it.
Renting a car may not be a terrible idea for the following reasons: -will allow you to get from the airport to the hotel easily and will have the car for use in NJ which will be needed. -having a car will allow you the ability to drive to either a bus/train/ferry for access to Manhattan. And I always get a chuckle out of people who rave about "brand new" rental vehicles without a single scratch on them.
