Just take the tram or walk to the car rental building... go to your agency or down to the cars if you have a “skip the counter” and then follow the signs out and around the building back to baggage.
But I like to go with whoever is the cheapest as long as there aren't terrible reviews. In looking at car rental reviews most of what I see are negative reviews. You have to remember that people are more likely to post a review when they are unhappy. Hope you get some real life experiences of those who have recently rented with Thrifty at OGG.

By the way, my daughter did it on Tuesday and it didn't help simply because Dollar like most of the companies is slow to service the car's being returned so they had to wait an extra hour along with dozens of other people.
Scott, all the major car rental companies are in the big "new" CONRAC building right across the street from the terminal. This includes both rental desks and the cars. As Cindy and Deepwater mentioned above, a new Tram quickly (2-3 minutes) takes you to the rental area. Or, you can walk 5-7 minutes to stretch jet-lagged legs along the wide walkway.
