   14 years ago. When I had stopped in my local AAA office to ask about tours to Ireland, they basically handed me CIE Tour brochures, which it would appear that they use. So, check out CIE tour reviews here. I have yet to travel to Ireland, but am leaning toward self-drive, which you can book yourself w/o the travel company.

The hotel sites that offer AAA discounts have a place where you select AAA rate which is about 15% when booking online or will give the discount when showing up on the day.

I book my own travel and only have gotten AAA discounts in the USA at large chain hotels. When I go to Europe I use smaller local hotels or B&Bs to get more of the local flavor.
